Air Marshal AK Pan AVSM VSM assumed the appointment of SMSO on 01 Sep 2025. The Air Officer was commissioned in Logistics Branch on 11 Jun 1988. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, College of Defence Management and National Defence College.
Air Officer’s distinguished service of more than 37 years includes 1400 hours of accident and incident free flying operations as a Flying Navigator apart from numerous key appointments such as Senior Logistics Officer of a premier flying base and Indian Aviation Contingent in the UN Mission in Congo. He has also tenanted the appointment of Command Logistics Management Officer at HQ MC and Staff Appointments at various directorates at Air HQ.
The Air Officer has commanded 54 Air Stores Park and 26 Equipment Depot. He has also tenanted the appointments of Air Cmde Logistics Planning, Air Cmde Procurement and ACAS (Procurement). Prior to assuming his present appointment, the Air Officer was ACAS (Logistics) at Air HQ.
For his distinguished service, the Air Officer has been awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in Jan 2025, Vishisht Seva Medal in 2016, Commendation by CAS in 1994 and Commendation by GOC-in-C, Central Command in 1995.
