New Delhi. 24 August 2025. All set to get you all live from MHOW, MP. For the first time ever, the Indian Armed Forces are hosting a tri-services dialogue led exclusively by serving officers — Ran Samvad — at the Army War College (26–27 Aug). This will be in collaboration with CENJOWS.

Unlike other defence conferences dominated by veterans & diplomats, this forum puts the spotlight on the practitioners of war — serving officers — to shape the future of warfare.

Themes this year

  • Impact of technology on warfare: cyber, space, cognitive domains, unmanned & airborne systems.
  • Institutional reforms in training to absorb and operationalize new tech.

Global participation

  • Defence attachés from France, Australia, South Korea, Bangladesh, Armenia & EU among others.

Lt. Gen Vipul Shinghal DCIDS (DOT) from HQ IDS stated, “Technological advancements are changing the very nature and character of warfare. Ran Samvad will help shape how practitioners think, plan & operate.”

This is being billed as the military’s own Raisina Dialogue — but with the warriors themselves in the driver’s seat. 2 days of brainstorming promise to be Ran Samvad indeed. Jai Hind!
