In a significant milestone for academia-military collaboration, the NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 08 July 2025, formalising a unique academic affiliation to award Diploma certifications to ANOS undergoing Pre-Commission training at NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee.
The initiative steered by Maj Gen Upkar Chander and his team at OTA Kamptee and Dr. Madhavi Khode Chaware, I.A.S., Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor & her team at RTM Nagpur University will empower over 1,200 teachers and professors every year from all across the country undergoing Pre-Commissioning courses at NCC OTA Kamptee to receive university-recognised diplomas. This partnership marks a significant milestone in recognising the academic depth and societal relevance of ANO training. By awarding certified university diplomas, it empowers Associate NCC Officers with credentials that formally acknowledge their contribution to youth leadership and nation-building. This pioneering initiative is also expected to attract more qualified educators to join the NCC as ANOs, further strengthening the NCC’s nationwide network of mentors and role models. The MoU represents a transformational step in bridging ANO training with higher education, heralding a new chapter in the NCC’s evolving role in national development & shaping future-ready citizens.
