The Saudi pavilion at the International Defense Industry Fair “IDEF 2025” concluded its participation with strategic gains that enable Saudi military industries and enhance the competitive capabilities of national companies on the global stage. This was achieved with the participation of over 10 national entities from both the public and private sectors, during the period from July 22 to 27, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).
The Saudi participation in the exhibition successfully strengthened strategic partnerships, showcased the latest defense technologies and innovations, and highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing products and capabilities in this vital sector. The Saudi pavilion received a large number of visitors, officials, and experts with the aim of exchanging expertise, exploring investment opportunities, and facilitating knowledge transfer.
His Excellency Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI, along with his accompanying delegation, held a series of productive bilateral meetings with several senior military officials and CEOs of major global defense companies. These meetings explored ways to enhance joint cooperation in military industries, exchange expertise, and enable national companies while strengthening their international competitiveness, all in service of national security objectives and sustainable economic development toward localizing military industries in Saudi Arabia.
During his visit to the Saudi pavilion and participating entities, His Excellency Professor Haluk Gorgun, the President of the Defense Industries in Turkey, appreciated Saudi Arabia’s participation in the exhibition. He was briefed on the role, responsibilities, policies and regulations of GAMI, the investor journey in the sector, and explored the key industrial capabilities of participating Saudi companies. He also observed the collaborative efforts between public and private sectors to enable the industry and achieve localization objectives
The Saudi pavilion witnessed the signing of five memorandums of understanding (MoU) during the exhibition days. Three of these were between Al-Esnad Factory and several Turkish companies, including MDH-Makel, AKSA Group, and Ayyazilim. Additionally, an MoU was signed between the National Company for Mechanical Systems (NCMS) and MKE, along with another MoU between Intra Defense Technologies and SAĞLAMTEK.
These strategic partnerships reaffirm the growing role of the military industries sector in Saudi Arabia. They stem from GAMI’s commitment to supporting and enabling national companies while enhancing their international competitiveness, all in service of national security objectives and sustainable economic development.
Visitors actively engaged with the Saudi pavilion, which featured detailed presentations about national products, innovative technologies, and military capabilities offered by participating Saudi companies. The pavilion also provided comprehensive information about investment incentives, investor journey, and the Kingdom’s attractive investment environment. Additionally, visitors received thorough explanations about GAMI’s role, responsibilities, policies, and regulations, along with displays highlighting the Kingdom’s most prominent capabilities in military and security industries.
Visitors praised the advanced level achieved by Saudi military industries and the Kingdom’s ambitious aspirations in this field. Meanwhile, GAMI confirmed that Saudi participation successfully achieved its objectives of enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a reliable partner in the global military industries sector, expanding its network with major international companies, and enabling national firms to showcase their capabilities while exploring growth and expansion opportunities in global markets. GAMI reaffirmed its determination to continue working towards achieving Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of building a thriving and sustainable defense industrial sector that serves national security objectives and economic development.
