Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), signed a series of strategic MoUs and an MoIKolkata. 05 June 2025. Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), signed a series of strategic MoUs and an MoI aimed at strengthening India’s indigenous shipbuilding capabilities and global partnerships during Nor-Shipping 2025 being held at Oslo, Norway from 02-06 Jun 25.

On 04 Jun 25, GRSE also entered into a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) for the construction of four follow-on 7,500 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels. The MoI was signed between Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler und Reederei GmbH & Co. Germany and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd on the sidelines of Nor-Shipping 2025. These additional four vessels will be built in continuation of the eight vessels presently being constructed by GRSE at its Kolkata yard. In addition to its existing specifications, these vessels will be having Hybrid propulsion and will be adhering to the latest cyber security norms. The firm contract for these vessels are likely to be concluded by 31 Aug 2025.

In pursuance of venturing into construction of Offshore platforms and vessels, GRSE also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/S Aries marine, a Dubai based, established and independent engineering and design firm for offshore Platform and vessel design. This is to extend worldwide reach of GRSE in the offshore market. This MOU facilitates collaboration on identifying and developing offshore orders for platforms designed by ARIES and built by “GRSE”.

In addition, GRSE also signed MoUs with a Global Engine Manufacturer on 04 Jun 25. These MoUs and MoI, along with the recently concluded MoU with Kongsberg Maritime, Norway in anticipation of an RFP expected for a Polar Research Vessel for NCPOR, MoES will go a long way in enhancing the capability of GRSE through collaboration with Global partners.
