02 February , 2026 – BIRD Aerosystems Ltd., a global provider of innovative airborne defense solutions, announced today that it has secured a tens-of-millions-of-dollars contract to supply its advanced SPREOS DIRCM (Directed Infrared Countermeasure) systems for the Helicopter Upgrade Program in the Asia Pacific Region.

The contract was awarded as part of an international tender to protect the helicopter platform. Under the agreement, BIRD Aerosystems will cooperate strategically with a leading  local defense company, including a comprehensive transfer of knowledge and local production of a localized DIRCM configuration.

As part of the program, dozens of SPREOS DIRCM systems will be supplied to the program’s prime contractor.

SPREOS is BIRD’s patented DIRCM solution designed to protect aircraft against missile threats. The system detects, tracks, and confirms incoming threats, providing precise protection against MANPADS with near-zero false alarms. SPREOS seamlessly integrates with a wide range of missile warning systems and is optimized for mission-critical aircraft platforms.

The program supports the ongoing modernization of national helicopters and positions SPREOS DIRCM as a preferred protection solution for one of the world’s most widely deployed and operationally critical helicopter platforms.

In addition to the supply contract, the agreement establishes a long-term strategic partnership aimed at expanding industrial cooperation and strengthening both domestic production capabilities and global market reach in advanced airborne self-protection technologies.

“This large-scale deal together with the strategic cooperation reflects the global strategy we have been driving since joining BIRD, to further strengthen the company’s positioning as a world-leading self-protection systems provider,” said Matan Perry, VP Marketing & Sales at BIRD Aerosystems. “Supplying protection systems to one of the world’s most advanced militaries represents a significant milestone for BIRD.”

Ronen Factor, Co-CEO and Founder of BIRD Aerosystems, added:

“It is a great privilege and honor to win such an important international DIRCM tender in the  Asia Pacific Region. This contract reflects the strong confidence placed in our advanced technology and proven operational capabilities. It marks another key step in BIRD’s global growth and reinforces our position as a trusted provider of advanced airborne protection solutions. Through our strategic partnership, I am confident this program will pave the way for continued success in the region and open additional opportunities across international markets.”
