Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. June 13, 2016. Asian Aviation Centre of Excellence (AACE), the joint venture between Air Asia and CAE inaugurated a new A330 CAE 7000XR Series full-flight simulator (FFS). The new simulator is located at the AACE training centre in Glenmarie, Selangor, Malaysia and brings the total number of full-flight simulators at all AACE centres to 12.
The ceremony was officiated by Tony Fernandes, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia, and Nick Leontidis, CAE Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions. This investment represents an important step in positioning AACE as a premier institution in aviation training within the region. AACE supports pilot training needs of more than 35 airline customers through the delivery training courses including type-rating on Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 737NG platforms.
The CAE 7000XR Series FFS is the next generation of CAE’s industry leading simulators, which offer unprecedented realism and are used to train pilots in a full array of situations and environmental conditions. The simulator is the highest generation simulator in the world, installed by CAE in Malaysia. Leveraging the latest advancements in technology and training capabilities, the CAE 7000XR Series is designed to optimize life-cycle costs and addresses new and future training requirements. Enhanced features include a re-designed instructor office with support for mobile devices and real-time data analysis and feedback. The CAE 7000XR Series is also equipped with embedded training capabilities to address Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT).
The new CAE 7000XR Series FFS has been accredited and certified by DCA Malaysia and also the Korea Office of Civil Aviation (KOCA). AACE aspires to be the leading training centre in Asia by being completely integrated, offering various types of training for airline and aviation professionals. AACE has been awarded the certification for Type Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) by DCAM since 2011 and the Approved Training Organisation part 147 certification by DCAM in 2013. AACE has also been certified as the Approved Training centre for all AirAsia pilots, cabin crew, engineers, ground operations, regulatory, safety, technical, leadership and management personnel.
