Paris (19 June 2025) – Excellence in continuous improvement over almost fifteen years has culminated in a landmark achievement for Northern Ireland’s Denroy, who today announce their receipt of the first ever Silver Aero Excellence Award. The recognition makes them the only company in the programme – founded by leading trade associations in France, the UK and Germany – to have achieved this to-date.
More than 200 companies have explored the programme since its inception a year ago across over 300 sites, with 24 bronze awards already obtained.
Aero Excellence International is a collaborative initiative by France’s GIFAS, the UK’s ADS, and Germany’s BDLI associations to create a unified, cross-border standard for assessing industrial maturity in the aerospace, defence, and space sectors. It provides a structured framework for evaluating suppliers across key domains such as production, quality, environmental performance, and cybersecurity, awarding bronze, silver, or gold status. The programme, originally launched in France, is expanding internationally to enhance transparency, resilience, and competitiveness across global supply chains.
Kevin McNamee, CEO of the Denroy Group, commented:
“For Denroy a SME achieving silver status represents an extraordinary accomplishment, especially given the depth and rigour of the assessment process. While Gold is a level typically reserved for larger multinationals, reaching Silver as an SME is a powerful testament to our capability, culture, and ambition.
This award represents the culmination of over a decade of sustained excellence and transformation at Denroy. From being named Irish Manufacturer of the Year in 2024, followed by regional recognition in Northern Ireland and then the UK, this Aero Excellence Silver Award is the crowning achievement of our journey so far. I’m immensely proud of the entire Denroy team whose adaptability, dedication, and talent and made this possible. Being the first SME in Europe to reach this standard shows what is achievable when a team is united around a shared vision of quality and performance.”
John Copley, Chief Operating Officer at ADS commented:
“After launching the Aero Excellence International initiative at Farnborough International Air Show in 2024, we are delighted to share that the first silver – and highest yet – Aero Excellence Award has been granted to Denroy. The assessment process – focussed on powering industrial excellence, quality and delivery performance – is rigorous, taking into account every facet of the manufacturing process.
“It is a testament to Denroy’s legacy and rich commitment to manufacturing excellence that they are celebrating here today.”
The award will be given at a ceremony during the International Paris Air Show, taking place in the Roland Garros Auditorium, la Musée de l’air et de l’Espace. All are welcome to attend.
