A two-day Military-Civil Fusion (MCF) Conclave 2026 is being organised by Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area at Nagpur on 20-21 January 2026.

The first day saw Apex-level participation from senior officers of the Indian Army with Lt Gen DS Kushwah, GOC, Maharashtra and Gujarat Area from Mumbai presiding over the proceedings. Maj Gen NS Sohal, GOC, Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area and high-ranking representatives of Civil Administration and officers from Police Department, Municipal Commissioner Office, State Disaster Management Authority, NDRF, Fire Services, Health Department, Forest, Railways, NCC Group Headquarter, Indian Air Force besides Academia, Solar Industries and Media participated in the conclave.

Deliberations focused on operational coordination, disaster response mechanisms, development of dual-use infrastructure, capability enhancement through academia and R&D, Atmanirbhar in defence, police response in contingencies and the role of NCC and veterans in nation building.

In his address, Maj Gen Navtej Singh Sohal, General Officer Commanding, Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area, emphasized that Military-Civil Fusion as a critical enabler for efficient resource utilization and enhanced national preparedness. He underscored the need to establish a formal, institutionalised framework for sustained Military-Civil Fusion as an important tool for achieving 2047 Development objectives of Viksit Bharat. He also brought forth the various important Military Command Region events planned in the near future.

The first day of the said conclave was well received by the participants of various departments.
