10th September 2025, London – Make UK Defence is celebrating the groundbreaking work of its members, many of whom are leading in cutting-edge defence technologies that are transforming land, sea, and air systems. At DSEI 2025, Make UK Defence is highlighting the innovation and adaptability driving the UK defence sector from the foundation of the British supply chain, providing next-generation autonomous systems to dual-use technologies reshaping the defence and civilian markets.

SEA Ltd, a previous winner of the Make UK Defence Innovation Award, is setting the pace with its solutions aimed at the increasing use of remote autonomous platforms and contingent forces, which they are showcasing at DSEI. The company’s maritime surveillance system integrates advanced autonomy, sensor fusion, and AI-driven threat detection to deliver for the UK Armed Forces. This enables faster decision-making, enhanced situational awareness, and seamless integration across multi-domain operations.

Make UK Defence is also shining a spotlight on SMEs driving dual-use innovation, developing technologies that strengthen both the UK’s warfighter and its civilian economy. One standout example is Perfect Bore Manufacturing Ltd, whose high-precision deep-hole drilling and barrel manufacturing technologies are being adopted by both frontline forces and sectors such as aerospace, energy, medical engineering, and advanced manufacturing. The company’s expertise in producing mortar barrels has revitalised British sovereign
capability while its precision engineering supports cutting-edge civilian applications, demonstrating the value of cross-sector innovation.

At DSEI, Perfect Bore Defence Ltd announced their new strategic partnership agreement with Paradigm Shift Technologies, Inc. This partnership promotes the exclusive collaboration of the two company’s working to underpin, reshore and rearm the UK’s ability to accurately coat ordinance with a modern, safe, and precision solution.

Make UK Defence continues to work closely with government, industry, and academia to foster collaboration, accelerate procurement pathways, and ensure UK companies remain at the forefront of global defence innovation on behalf of its members.

Andrew Kinniburgh, Director-General of Make UK Defence, said: “Innovation is at the heart of the UK’s defence capability, and our members are leading the charge. Whether it’s enhancing operational effectiveness, building sovereign capability, or developing technologies with dual-use potential, Make UK Defence members are shaping the future of defence at home and overseas.”
