Sekhon Indian Air Force MarathonThe first edition of Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon (SIM) was organised by Headquarters Maintenance Command on 02 Nov 2025 with enthusiastic participation of large number of IAF personnel, their family members and civilians. The event was organized to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force.

The event was dedicated to honour the indomitable spirit of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, Param Vir Chakra (PVC) – the only Indian Air Force Officer to be awarded with the nation’s highest military honour for his extraordinary valour and supreme sacrifice during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The marathon was also aimed to promote the spirit of fitness, discipline and sportsmanship among participants reflecting the Indian Air Force’s ethos of excellence and commitment.

The event featured three categories: 21km, 10km & 5km. The participants were flagged off by Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, AOC-in-C, MC and Ritu Garg, President Air Force Families Welfare Association (Regional). They also felicitated the winners in various categories. The event was further enlivened by the stirring performances by the Air Force Band, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
