February 05, 2026 – Boeing’s Landing Gear Exchange (LGE) program completed its 100th 787 landing gear delivery, demonstrating the importance of offering airlines flexible maintenance solutions to address rising operational costs and supply chain challenges. The milestone delivery was received by ANA.

Why it matters: In an industry where efficiency and reliability are paramount, Global Services’ LGE program offers a reliable supply chain solution that helps airlines maintain operational stability and manage their fleet maintenance needs more effectively.

What they’re saying: “The Landing Gear Exchange program has been instrumental in optimizing our maintenance operations and ensuring the highest levels of safety during our passengers’ journeys with us,” said Yukifumi Ueda, vice president and general manager, Engine, Component & Supply Chain, of ANA. “This latest delivery demonstrates our strong partnership with Boeing and our commitment to providing exceptional, seamless service to our customers.”

How it works: Landing gear is required to be overhauled about every 10-12 years, depending on aircraft use and model.

  • The LGE program provides operators with a streamlined solution when landing gear becomes unserviceable or needs a scheduled overhaul due to the number of hours or cycles.
  • Customers receive a complete shipset of gears, installation kits, current configuration, and replacement of all bushings and standard hardware that they can install. The removed assembly is then sent to an MRO facility to be overhauled and put into the exchange pool.

Catch up quick: For more than 20 years, the exchange program has been the preferred choice for airlines for providing essential parts, maintaining high safety standards and improving fleet uptime.

  • A global network of suppliers, partners, and distribution centers ensures quick access to certified overhauled components.
  • Boeing has secured contracts with 34 airlines for their 787 fleets, with more than 480 exchange positions reserved.

Investing in growth: Boeing is expanding its exchange pool capacity to meet the growing needs of airlines and ensure their fleets are always ready to take off.

  • In addition to the 787 fleet, Boeing also supports LGE for 737 MAX, 747-8 and 777.
  • Customers with 787-9 fleets started their overhaul cycle late last year.

The big picture: “Our commitment to innovation and service excellence remains at the forefront of our mission,” said William Ampofo, senior vice president, Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain, Global Services. “This milestone reinforces our dedication to providing airlines with critical parts when and where needed to maximize fleet availability and strengthen operational resilience. By ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain, we continue to drive measurable value for airline operations worldwide.”
