New Delhi, 31 July 2025 – In a major step towards improving the health and living conditions of jawans deployed in the Himalayan high-altitude regions, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, have signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Rajesh S. Gokhale, Secretary, DBT, and Shri Rahul Rasgotra, Director General, ITBP, along with senior officials from both organizations.
Under this collaboration —
- Solutions for high-altitude illnesses and oxygen deficiency,
- Deployment of telemedicine and mobile diagnostic units to remote border Posts,
- Development of nutritional supplements and cold-weather health gear for jawans,
- Training ITBP medical personnel in the latest biotechnological methods will be Undertaken.
This initiative marks a significant step toward providing better healthcare facilities to our brave jawans serving under the most challenging conditions.
