Quepem, Goa. 28 March, 2016. French defence major Thales had an exciting  first day at Defexpo. They had special guests at their stand . Manohar Parrikar, Union Minister, Ministry of Defence, Government of India and Laxmikant Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa met Thales representatives Mr. Pierre Eric Pommellet, Executive VP, Defence Mission Systems, Thales and Mr. Antoine Caput, VP and Country Director – India, Thales.

But we have confidence in the Indian government and its vision. As anticipated, we hope the new DPP follows a pragmatic approach allowing all stakeholders to work in unison with degree of flexibility to ensure cost-effective and timely achievements, aiming to boost indigenous defence procurement. Thales has always been supportive and responsive to noteworthy reforms. We have been present in India for over 60 years and continue to contribute to the development of the country by co-operating with Indian industry. 12901265_10154090258079920_2268406702572002498_oOur JVs with BEL, Samtel and L&T Technology Services are a testament to it and so is our ‘Go to India’  initiative as part of which we have been promoting India as a sourcing destination. We would continue to liaise with the Indian industry to build transfer of technology and supply chain partnerships. We have plans to ramp up our supply chain in India and build a sustainable ecosystem of partners. ”
