New Delhi. 25 May 2016. HAL and BEL signed an umbrella MoU with an aim of mutual cooperation and knowledge transfer in avionics. Suvarna Raju, CMD, HAL, S. K. Sharma, CMD, BEL and senior officials from both the DPSUs were present on the occasion. D. K. Venkatesh, Director (Engg. and R&D) HAL and Dr A. T. Kalghatgi, Director (R&D) of BEL signed the MoU.
“The umbrella understanding includes sharing of expertise in design, development, engineering and manufacturing between HAL and BEL to develop and produce advanced airborne communication, electronic warfare systems etc”, says Raju.
Sharma says “BEL is pleased to be associated with HAL and share the respective expertise and competencies for the common objectives. I am sure such efforts will lead to greater indigenization and self-reliance in defence technologies. This collaboration will support the ‘Make in India’ mission”.
